JIRIES BOULATA

Is an award-winning pianist, composer, and music lecturer from Jerusalem. His works blend Western classical and Oriental music, depicting the story of his homeland. Teaching young musicians, he is dedicated to guiding them towards top-level artistry and opening new horizons. He introduces them to piano improvisation and fosters a broad understanding of how to connect oneself with pianistic interpretation.

Rhapsody in Time of War

“Rhapsody in Time of War” is a piece for solo piano and symphonic wind orchestra, composed by Jiries Boulata and arranged by Melanie Maria Warschun. Originally written for solo piano in 2014 during the war on Gaza titled “Arabic Rhapsody”, it was later arranged into several chamber versions, including string quintet, oriental ensemble, and a cello and piano version.
